Full cross-play is an advertised feature. It is paired with rollback netcode, the networking approach commonly used to make online fighting-game matches feel more responsive under changing connection conditions.

What rollback does and does not guarantee

Rollback can improve how online inputs are presented, but it cannot repair an unstable connection or remove physical distance. A wired connection and a nearby opponent can still make a meaningful difference.
